"Carolus Pinguis" has always worried me. This Latin name was copied from us (I think) into the English Wikipedia article, and has spread widely from there, but did we have a source? I can find a source for "Carolus crassus", which matches other people who were nicknamed "the fat" in medieval times, but I can't see any reliable sources for "Carolus pinguis". Can anyone help? carolus Crassus est nomen verum et authenticum huius viri [adfirmat 193.35.132.37, usor ignotus]
