Spelling out numbers[fontem recensere]

Actually, Andrew, I like to see numbers written out, for otherwise my brain pronounces them as in my native language. Numerals do make for faster reading, but less true to the Latin. If it's of interest, the New Yorker, the most highly regarded magazine published in the United States, spells out all numbers—yes, even sixty-seven trillion four hundred fifty-two billion six hundred seventy-nine million eight hundred forty-three thousand two hundred twenty-one and a half. Sadly, I think it makes an exception for years, both BCE and CE, but I don't have an exemplar at hand to prove my memory wrong. IacobusAmor 14:21, 7 Decembris 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Am I the Andrew? I never saw this comment before, but, 8 years and 3 months late, I read it with pleasure :) Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 20:42, 20 Martii 2017 (UTC)[reply]
