To whoever/whatever drafted the original Latin[fontem recensere]

For "Finds of wooden tablets show that at least some were literate," you've given Inveniat de ligneis tabulas ostenditur quod nonnulli autem ex eis litterati. That's more gibberish than Latin. It can be translated back into English as "Let it find from woodens the tablets which thing some, however, of them well-read it is shown." If you're a person (not a machine) and want to expand your skill at translating into Latin, you might benefit from studying how Latin cases work and paying more attention to Latin word-order.
