Cath.Enycl. (ad quam notá indicatur): "Aseity ...is the property by which a being exists of and from itself" ('est proprietas sive qualitas, per quam ens quoddam in se deque se ipso exsistit'). Quod sequitur (i.e."or exists as so-and-such of and from itself") aliunde esse videtur. Demiror, num hoc additum aliquid novi aut magni momenti afferat. For "the property by which a being exists of and from itself," the English Wikipedia—the source of the original translation—is "the property by which a being exists in and of itself, from itself." Perhaps the difference stems from the fact that 'to exist of itself' isn't comfortably native-speakerish, whereas the idiomatic shape of 'to exist in and of itself' is unremarkable. The authors of Wikipedia's version were probably translating from barely intelligible technical diction into modern general English. IacobusAmor (disputatio) 00:44, 10 Septembris 2012 (UTC)[reply]
