Pro Altruismus reciprocus, melius Altruismus mutuus ? IacobusAmor (disputatio) 14:25, 26 Decembris 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Si vis, sed hoc saltem dictionarium reciprocus "reciprocal" sibi velle obfert. Mattie (disputatio) 18:57, 26 Decembris 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cassell's:
"reciprocal, mutuus.
"rĕciprŏcus -a -um, returning, going backwards and forwards : Plin.; mare, ebbing, Tac.
A distinction that comes to mind (which may not be correct, of course) is that reciprocus describes the reciprocity involved in, say, call-and-response or back-and-forth genres, like litanies, but mutuus is more of an I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you-scratch-my-back kind of thing (if that makes any sense). In the one, I give you A, and you give me B; in the other, I give you A, and you give me A also. But maybe this is a distinction without a difference. Yeah, I meant it when I said "si vis" -- I'm okay with mutuus! I just chose reciprocus because it's closest to the other languages, but I did have doubts about it. Mattie (disputatio) 17:34, 28 Decembris 2012 (UTC)[reply]
