Biotechnologia (-ae, f.) est ars biologica quae bacteriis, fungis, plantis, animalibus, organis, cellulis, organellisque utitur ad varia bona creanda, sicut cibos, vestita, medicinas, et caetera. Productio panis, cervisiae vini acetique biotechnologia longe utitur. Homines temporibus Aegyptorum faece utebantur ut oxidum carbonii in pane cervisiaque efficeretur.
