Alteritas[1] est notio philosophiae quae 'statum unius vel alius' significat. In moribus phaenomenologicis, usitate habetur entitas super quam identitas construitur, potestatemque inter se et non-se distinguere significat, et ergo exsistentiam alius sententiae comprehendere. Notio instituta est ab Emmanuele Lévinas in congerie commentariorum nomine Altérité et transcendence (1970, 1995) conlectorum, sub influentiam "ego et tu" Martini Buber.

Vox etiam extra philosophiam adhibetur, praecipue in anthropologia, a Nicolao Dirks, Ioanne Fabian, Michaele Taussig, Paulina Turner Strong, et aliis eruditis, ad constructionem "aliarum culturarum" spectandam. Notio autem nove reperitur in disciplinis ut videntur aliquantulum remotis, e.g. musicologia, ubi ab Ioanne Michaele Cooper in investigatione Goethe et Mendelssohn efficienter adhibetur.

Etiam myhistoria "Scripta ex inferis" a Fyodor Dostoevsky et Ningen Shikkaku a Dazai Osamu de impossibilitate alteritatis scripsit.
